1、Flow meter Product Introduction
Flow meter is designed for flow surveys in open channels, making it easy to measure the velocity and flow rate of water in open channels.The LS1500 model Flow meter (referred to as the Flow meter) is specifically designed for field measurements of open channel flow velocity and flow rate by departments such as hydrological stations, factories and mines, environmental monitoring stations, farmland irrigation and drainage, and hydrogeological surveys.
The LS1500 model Flow meter can be used with a flow velocity sensor, whose propeller helix angle, pitch, manufacturing process, and materials have been redesigned. It measures parameters such as flow velocity and flow rate in open channels.
2、Flow meter Measurement Principle
Flow Velocity Measurement: Driven by hydraulic power, the flow meter's built-in signal device generates a rotation signal. Therefore, the flow velocity can be calculated using the following formula based on the total number of signals generated by the flow meter within a given time period: v = a + b * R / T (m/s) (automatic calculation)
v – Average flow velocity during the measurement period (m/s)
b – Hydraulic pitch of the propeller (or cup) (m)
a – Flow meter constant (m/s)
T – Measurement duration (s)
R – Total number of rotations of the flow meter rotor during the time period T
For a given flow meter, b and a are constant values. Therefore, during flow measurement, the flow velocity can be calculated simply by measuring the values of T and R.
Flow Rate Measurement: Input the type of the cross-section to be measured, and manually input (or measure via an auxiliary sensor) the water level and width of the regular cross-section to calculate the cross-sectional area. The instrument then calculates the flow velocity Q value using Q = V * S.
