By measuring the propagation time difference or phase difference of ultrasonic waves in different directions, the instantaneous values of both wind speed and wind direction can be calculated simultaneously. Especially for small ultrasonic wind speed and wind direction sensors, they can achieve 360° all-round measurement through four ultrasonic probes that cyclically send and receive signals within a two-dimensional plane, without having to worry about angular limitations.
