The handheld weather station is a portable instrument that integrates the measurement of multiple meteorological parameters, including wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and altitude. It utilizes precision sensors and smart chips; a built-in high-capacity storage chip retains up to a year's worth of weather data, while a Type-C interface facilitates easy data export and analysis.
Designed for portability, this device simultaneously measures parameters such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, altitude, heat index, wet-bulb temperature, dew point, wind chill, and wave height. It employs precision sensors and smart chips to ensure high measurement accuracy: ±0.3°C for temperature, ±2% RH for humidity, ±0.3 m/s for wind speed, ±3° for wind direction, and ±1 hPa for atmospheric pressure. Some models feature ultrasonic wind sensors—replacing traditional wind vanes and cups—making the device lighter and more portable.
Equipped with a 3.5-inch LCD screen, the device allows for real-time, on-site reading of all measurements. A built-in electronic compass enables 360-degree wind direction monitoring, with support for switching between automatic and manual reading modes. GNSS tri-mode positioning accurately marks coordinates for monitoring locations and synchronizes data timestamps. The device includes a high-capacity flash storage chip capable of holding up to 40,000 data records, with adjustable logging intervals ranging from 1 to 60 minutes. A Type-C interface allows users to export stored data for further processing and analysis. A 3800mAh lithium battery supports over 18 hours of continuous operation, and the low-power design meets the demands of extended fieldwork.
In terms of application, handheld weather stations are widely used in fields such as meteorological monitoring, environmental protection, aviation and shipping, agriculture and forestry management, hydrological observation, military support, warehousing and logistics, and scientific research. In agriculture, the device monitors field microclimates, helping farmers optimize the timing of irrigation and crop protection activities. In forestry fire monitoring, wind speed and humidity data assist in assessing fire risk levels. Outdoor expedition teams can use handheld weather stations to monitor weather changes in real time and mitigate safety risks posed by sudden, adverse weather conditions. Emergency responders can utilize these devices to rapidly obtain firsthand meteorological data at disaster sites, providing a basis for informed rescue decisions.
Certain models support 4G wireless transmission, allowing data to be uploaded directly to cloud platforms for remote, real-time monitoring and simultaneous multi-user access. The devices can also be paired with optional tripods for stationary observation, catering to the requirements of diverse monitoring scenarios. Driven by continuous advancements in sensor and wireless communication technologies, handheld weather stations are evolving toward higher precision, expanded parameter monitoring, and extended battery life, offering increasingly efficient and convenient solutions for meteorological data collection across various industries.
Micrometeorology is an important branch of meteorology that studies the physical processes and phenomena in the near-surface atmosphere, typically within a range of a few meters to tens of meters above the Earth's surface. Unlike traditional meteorology that focuses on large-scale weather patter...
Self-cleaning Turbidity Sensor sensor uses the 90° scattering light method to measure the concentration of suspended particles in liquids, with a range of 0-1000 NTU and an accuracy of ±1%. It features a built-in automatic cleaning brush that periodically cleans the optical window, and, comb...
Traditional weather stations often suffer from limitations such as complicated installation and fixed locations, making it difficult to meet the immediate data needs for on-site emergency weather events, field scientific research, or temporary activities. The FT-BQX6 Portable Weather Station was des...
Agricultural production is closely related to weather changes, and weather conditions play a decisive role in the growth, development, and final yield of crops. Torrential rains may trigger floods, submerge farmland, and damage crops. Droughts, on the other hand, can lead to insufficient soil moistu...
